PROGRAMS

Members will engage in a variety of therapeutic and social activities that are structured and continually supervised by staff. Our core theme of the programs have a holistic approach of the “Mind, Body and Soul”. We are here to provide your loved ones with meaningful social stimulation, and to provide caregivers with a well-deserved break in their day.

All of our activities are designed to stimulate the senses, trigger dormant memories, improve daily function, and encourage conversation and to live well.  All of our programs are designed with the interest of those attending the center.

Mind
Members engage in stimulating discussions, reminiscing and talking of their favorite pastime travels, hobbies and sports. Music and art are brought to life through entertainment and expressive opportunities. Word challenges, puzzles, skillful games organized both in groups and individually with staff provide both entertainment and mental stimulation.

Using computer technology with the iPad and computer, members engage in computerized games, puzzles and slide show modules which promote positive emotions as expressed in both the visual and auditory manner.

Body
During the course of the weekly planner, our members can participate in various exercises, walks, dance and more. We indulge in every opportunity to venture outdoors and participate in horticulture and therapeutic gardening, many of our seasonal herbs, tomatoes and beans are harvested right at our center. Using our handpicked herbs and vegetables for our entrees are sure to find everyone eating healthier.

Soul
Our programs encourage healthy, loving and supportive relationships with our members and families. Our staff has a significant impact on the happiness and fulfillment that takes place at Van Dyk Memory Care Center. We honor and respect our member’s faith. During daily devotionals members can join together in meaningful and spiritual ways. Fostering self-worth, self- esteem and self- confidence from individual and group accomplishments and interactions are a very important part of creating a happy soul. We strive to align our activities with personal values, interests and beliefs of all of our members.
